School in the City
September is approaching in small steps and with it the start of a new school year. Children are slowly getting ready to start the new semester. The end of summer vacation does not have to mean the end of adventures! The “School in the City” project is a modern way of implementing the core curriculum based on local institutions and organizations. Among them is Kolejkowo!
What is “School in the City”?
The project involves the implementation of teaching activities in urban spaces to make the implementation of the core curriculum in various subjects more attractive. Children and students implement the topics of the core curriculum in an attractive form in various institutions, and are at the same time co-creators of activities, workshops, experiences. Participation in the project has a positive impact on the development of their individual interests, promotes development in terms of content, cognition and emotion. Kindergarten and school become places of passion for both the child, the student and the teacher.
The “School in the City” project enriches the educational offer with elements through which children and young people learn involvement, cooperation, active citizenship, local patriotism, sensitivity to the needs of others, and volunteerism.
How do you get funds from the project?
- Funding for the School in the City project is provided to all schools and educational institutions run by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
- Allocated funds may be used for the organization of mandatory activities in urban spaces (theaters, community centers, associations, cinemas, museums, sports facilities, universities), which are included in the list (Appendix 1);
- Funds may be used to cover: the cost of educational activities and entrance fees (e.g., museums, cinemas, theaters), the purchase of teaching materials necessary for the activities;
- A report on the implementation of the School in the City project should be submitted by June 30 for the January-June period and by December 15 for the September-December period.
